Scale a recipe for production

Canoli's Batch Calculator turns a recipe written per serving or per 100g into a full batch, with ingredient quantities, batch cost and cost per serving worked out for you. It's available on paid plans; on a plan without it, the button shows locked with a link to upgrade.

Open the Batch Calculator

On a recipe, look above the ingredients list for the Batch Calculator button next to Ingredients Per Serving. Click it to open the batch panel.

Choose how to scale

Enter either a total number of servings or a target finished weight in kilograms. Canoli converts between the two using the recipe's serving size and yield percentage, so you only need to set one.

Read the batch breakdown

The panel lists every ingredient with its percentage of the batch, its scaled quantity, and its cost. Below that, Canoli totals the raw weight and cost, the finished weight after yield, the number of servings, and the cost of goods sold per serving.

Copy the numbers out

Use Copy to Clipboard to pull the batch breakdown into a spreadsheet or production sheet.

Before you scale

The calculator works from your recipe's current ingredients and quantities, so check those are right first. If an ingredient's cost isn't set, its contribution to cost shows as unknown rather than zero.
